Classroom/Meeting Room Availability
1.
The Jack O’Connor Hunting Heritage and Education
Center Classroom is available to non-profit
organizations with purposes compatible with those of
the Jack O’ Connor Hunter Heritage and Education
Center (JOC or “Center”)), and to agencies of the
city, county, state and federal government. The
purposes of the center are to provide a setting open
to the public that houses the specimens Jack
O’Connor and his wife Eleanor collected over a
lifetime of hunting, along with manuscripts, books
and memorabilia from Mr. O’Connor’s extensive
writing career. The goals of the JOC are to
perpetuate the human hunting heritage and provide
education regarding our hunting heritage and
activities related to hunting.
2.
The Classroom may be made available to other groups
and private citizens for other purposes compatible
with the JOC’s goals and mission.
3.
The Center suggests a donation to the Center of at
least $50.00 per day to help us defray operating
costs.
4.
To reserve the JOC Classroom, call the Center;
telephone (208) 743-5043, or email director@jack-oconnor.org
within six months (180 days) of the requested
meeting date. (The room will not be scheduled on
the second Wednesday of each month to allow for
monthly board meetings.)
5.
If you reserve the room for days or evenings when
the Center is not open, arrangements must be made
for the Administrative Director, a member of the
Board of Directors, or a certified Volunteer to open
the center. The museum may be made available for
visitation upon request.
6.
The JOC Education Class room may be available for
groups up to 40. The room must be left in the
standard set-up for chairs and tables (a diagram is
located on the wall).
7.
A vending machine for soft drinks is available in
the classroom. Food and drink is limited to the
classroom area. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE FOOD AND
DRINK ALLOWED IN THE MUSEUM. You will need to
provide your own cleanup, including removal of all
garbage from the premises.
8.
In order to cover the cost of failure to clean up
after an event, any event involving food service
will require a two hundred dollar ($200.00) deposit.
If the after-event inspection reveals that area has
been left in good order with all tables and chairs
in proper order, all garbage has been removed and
there is no physical damage to the property, the
deposit will be refunded in full.
9.
Audio and visual aid equipment is not provided.
10.
The parking spaces in the upper parking lot are for
museum visitors during hours when the museum is
